Where it began - Playa Montroig

I first met Les in August 1976 when Parker Junior and I were but 4 years old. He has always been a lovely man who would do whatever he needed to for his family and friends. I remember when James and I were at a roller disco and following a contraversial accident Les had to whisk me off to hospital late at night to have my bleeding ear seen to! Then there was the time when he caught me smoking in Spain and promised not to tell my Mum and Dad (I was young then and have now stopped smoking!). We spent many happy summers in Playa Montroig Spain, fond memories of Les and my Dad barbequing in dodgy chef's hats, parents being drunk having been drinking Harvey Wall Bangers in the middle of the Aveneda's. Then of course the legendary fish barbeque when James and I went off on a bar crawl and both came back feeling rather worse for wear leading to James being sick on his Walkman and Les having to spend the next 2 days drying it out - which he did and it worked again! Nothing was ever too much trouble for Les, he loved life and loved his family and friends. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have met Les and known him for many years and I am also grateful to call James my best friend as he did not fall far from the tree and I know that Les was so proud of him.
